I Can Live on My Own . . .

In Independent Living each person is provided with a set number of weekly staff support hours to help them work in the community, navigate public transportation systems, access personal medical care and manage medications, budget and pay bills, participate in community recreation and take vacations. Our Independent Living Team members serve as role models and mentor each person to help them maintain their valued independence.

Independent Living Services helps 75+ individuals with intellectual, developmental and cognitive disabilities realize their potential and dreams of self-sufficiency and inclusion by helping them use their own unique skills and talents as active members of the community.

ARCA provides three unique Independent Living models: 1) Sandia View Apartments, a private apartment complex which has on-site emergency staffing, a therapeutic swimming pool, and a community room; 2) four, three-person homes in the Albuquerque area that provides more extensive supports for individuals with a higher level of need; and 3) individuals receiving services live in their own homes receiving support as needed.
