Michelle Harmon has dedicated more than 16 years to ARCA and currently serves as President and CEO. She was first drawn to ARCA through its strong reputation in the community and a personal connection to the field through a family member with special needs. In a full circle moment, ARCA was even part of her wedding day, providing the flowers more than 30 years ago.
To Michelle, ARCA represents something meaningful. “It is a living example of what can happen when a community believes in people’s potential and commits to removing barriers and creating pathways to meaningful lives.” That belief has guided her work and shapes the way she leads.
Throughout her time at ARCA, she has witnessed individuals reach milestones once out of reach, from finding meaningful employment to building independence and connection in their communities. Those moments stay with her and reinforce why this work matters, not just for individuals, but for families who are part of every step along the way.
Under Michelle’s leadership, ARCA has continued to grow and develop, expanding its impact through residential services, employment programs, and innovative initiatives such as ARCA’s NeuRoads. Each effort reflects ARCA’s commitment to dignity, inclusion, and opportunity.
As ARCA celebrates its 70th anniversary, Michelle sees this milestone as both an honor and a responsibility. It is a chance to carry forward a strong legacy while continuing to open doors to choice, independence, and a future shaped by each person’s goals.
