During the past fifteen years of working with children who have acquired brain injuries, we have shared the frustration of parents and teachers searching for better understanding of their child or student. Although the professional literature on the topic growing, there are few practical, clear, and complete guidebooks for people who are not brain injury specialists. The idea for this manual was sparked by our concern for the many families and educators who do not have access to quality consultation or information about the special needs of children who have acquired brain injuries.
