DescriptionThe Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimate that at least 5.3 million people in the US - children and adults - live with some degree of physical, cognitive or emotional disabilities as a result of traumatic brain injuries. Still - traumatic brain injury is a silent epidemic! Every 21 seconds a brain injury occurs to someone who is loved and valued. Traumatic brain strikes without warning and certainly without preparation to infants, children, adolescents and adults. Every individual who is injured has a family and every family's journey becomes a story. This lifelong saga is a struggle where families often feel they are drowning under their fears and frustrations, only to be alternately lifted by waves of courage, hope and commitment. In many cases their saga becomes an inspiration to others.
