Three advertisements/PSAs regarding the 2007 Child Helmet Safety Act, which went into effect July 1, and it requires that all children younger than 18 wear helmets for these and any activities using non-motorized, wheeled devices on public property. Brain injury is the leading cause of death in bicycle crashes and the risk of brain injury from skateboarding, skating and riding scooters is also high. Even toddlers on tricycles are at risk. Wearing properly fitted helmets can prevent up to 88% of these serious, sometimes fatal brain injuries.
